Mike Burton has travelled extensively in Italy and is an unabashed exponent of the Italian way of life. He first visited Venice in 1991 and became a part-time resident of the city in 2004. His current range of Themed Limited Edition Prints, entitled Another Venice, reveals an eye for often overlooked detail.
An interest in colour, pattern, texture and light make it possible for his work to capture the essence of the city's enigmatic beauty: a city far richer in detail than it appears at first sight.

Mike Burton was born in Bradford in the North of England in 1951 and trained as a teacher of Creative Design at Loughborough College where he specialised in Furniture, Graphics and Product Design. For almost 30 years he headed a successful team of Specialist Design Staff in an Upper Secondary School in the UK: he is now semi--retired but continues to teach Photography to Advanced Level Students in the city of Leicester.

Mike's prints are digitally manipulated High Resolution Originals reproduced onto Acid Free Archival Watercolour Paper with UV Stable Pigment based Inks. This method guarantees longevity of the image and enhanced colour depth.

In October 2007 Mike became an Arcaid Photographer, represented worldwide by the prestigious London based Photographic Agency Arcaid, specialising in images of the built environment. In Venice his Limited Edition Prints are exclusive to SCRIBA, a long established and well respected Gallery to the side of the Frari Church in the San Polo district of the city.  His work also appears on the site of the European Council of Art  .  .  where he is listed as a contributing artist  and credited for images used elsewhere on the site.  In the UK prints are available direct from Mike (01530 230627), via his website (making use of the contact form) or by sending an email to
